       Bring your kids by the Watson Cabin for free face painting and pioneer-

       inspired crafts.  Parents must be present. $3 per child for crafts.

6     36th Annual Home Tour and Benefit Raffle

       Tour historic and lakefront homes in this popular annual event. Ticket

       sales are limited and you must be a current Museum member to

       purchase tickets. Contact the Gatekeeper's Museum for additional

       information. Noon - 4:30pm.  

8     Tahoe City Walking Tour at 10am

8-9  Heritage Trails Free admission to 18 museums in Placer County from

      10am - 4pm. Visit our Gatekeeper's Museum and Watson Cabin.

9     Old Time Tahoe Picnic

       Join us for a lakeside picnic dinner in Layton Park, followed by an evening

       showing of Rosemarie in the park. Advance reservations are required. 

       Picnic dinners are provided by Whole Foods of Reno, with a choice of

       smoked salmon, chicken or pepper crusted beef, along with brie, blue cheese,

       artisan-baked bread, summer garden salad, fresh fruit, sparkling water,

       chocolate and utensils. Bring a bottle of wine!  Dinner begins at 6:30pm, and

       the movie will begin at approximately 9pm.

       $35 members/$40 non members.

28   In the Stars...Native American Myths and Legends

       Join Dr. Paul Guttman from Space Science for Schools for an evening

       exploration into the stars, focusing on various Native American legends.

       Maximum of 15 participants, and children 17 and under must be

       accompanied by an adult. This is a free event, but donations are welcome!

29   Tahoe City Walking Tour at 10am

SEPTEMBER

11   2nd Annual Bridge Tournament and catered lunch

       Enjoy a day of duplicate or social bridge, lunch and prizes in support of the 

       NLTHS.  11am - 3pm at the Tahoe Yacht Club. $40

19    6th Annual Native American Basketweavers' Market

       This event features sales, demonstrations and exhibits of basketry by

       California and Nevada weavers. The event is on the Museum grounds

       admission is free.  Visit the Museum for additional demonstrators. Bring

       your antique/contemporary American Indian art for appraisal. $10/item.

       Acorn processing and cooking demonstration @ 3pm.

* All walking tours meet at the Visitor Center in Tahoe City, located next to the

   fire station.
